In a significant rendezvous on 12th March 2024, Kenya Re hosted Swiss Re, their longstanding retrocessionaires, to reinforce their enduring partnership. The meeting focused on essential matters such as finalizing accounts, settling outstanding issues, and exploring strategies for post-COVID underwriting. The visit provided Kenya Re with valuable insights from Swiss Re's experience in mature insurance markets, enabling them to glean best practices and refine their approach to industry challenges independently.

This exchange of ideas underscores the importance of maintaining strong relationships and staying abreast of global trends in the dynamic insurance landscape. As both entities continue to navigate uncertainties and adapt to evolving market conditions, the encounter serves as a testament to the enduring bonds and mutual business engagements between Kenya Re and Swiss Re. This successful afternoon meeting also formed an excellent basis for exchange of ideas on training and capacity building noting that the two entities run Training Academies aimed at growth of the insurance & reinsurance industry at the global level.

The meeting was attended by Swiss Re’s Assistant Vice President & Client Manager for East & West Africa - Lebohang Lebeta, Claims Specialist – Valerie Zwane and Life Products Underwriter - Shihaam Gallow. On Kenya Re’s end, Acting Manager – Life Business – Yoves Angwenyi, Manager, Marketing, Business Development and Kenya Re Training Academy Coordinator – Lucy Kagwiria, Assistant Manager, Life Business -  Jackline Karimi, Marketing & Business Development Officer – Edwin Muthabuku and Life Underwriter – Richard J. Mongo attended the meeting.
