On 12th March 2024, our team had the opportunity to strategically engage with Global Bharat Re Brokers Ltd. at their offices in Nairobi. Global Bharat Re is a key Kenya Re partner through its core business of providing reinsurance broking services. The Global Bharat Re Brokers Ltd team was led by the Regional Manager and Principal Officer – Mr. Kelvin Onchweri. The Kenya Re team was led by Acting Assistant Manager – Credit Control – Ms. Claris Mwasaru.
The Kenya Re team pitched to the Global Bharat Re Brokers Ltd team on channelling of more profitable facultative business to the Corporation. The Kenya Re team also appreciated their counterparts for the consistent support and partnership on the retrocession programme and added that the Corporation is committed to staying on an upward trajectory regarding Customer Experience.
The meeting also discussed outstanding balances from the existing business relationship and agreed on a constructive way forward for settlement. The Global Bharat Re team thanked the Kenya Re team for the visit and noted that the meeting was a good moment for strengthening the foundation of the ongoing business relationship. The two teams also agreed on the adoption of tripartite meetings as a strategy to spur efficient reconciliation. The Kenya Re team thanked their counterparts for nominating staff for previous trainings at the Kenya Re Training Academy and further encouraged them to check out the client training calendar on the Corporation’s website.
Mr. Onchweri was accompanied to the meeting by Office Manager – Santa Kachra and Broking Executive – Lemara Larus. Ms. Mwasaru was accompanied by Reinsurance Underwriter - Leonard Kipngétich – Reinsurance Underwriter - Fraciah Wainaina - as well as Marketing & Business Development Officer – Edwin Muthabuku.
