The Corporation sponsored a charity golf tournament at Muthaiga Golf Club, Nairobi on Friday, 26th April 2024. The tournament was organized by Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. The charity golf day aimed at rallying funds towards supporting the ongoing construction of a home that will serve as a peaceful retreat for priests and offer a calm ambience suitable for the elderly. The home is called Camisassa Hospitality and Healthcare home and it is located in Nairobi. The Corporation was represented at the tournament by golfers – Lilian Mbaabu, General Manager Property & Investments, Sally Waigumo – Manager, Human Resources, Samuel Ruugia – Manager, ICT and Linus K’owiti – Manager, Customer Relationship who won the nearest to the pin award at the tournament.
The General Manager, Property & Investments (GM – P&I) represented the Group Managing Director, Dr. Hillary Wachinga, at the tournament. She made remarks on behalf of the Group MD at the dinner prize giving ceremony. In her remarks, the GM – P&I commended the church for the initiative and noted that the significance of the sponsorship as a sustainable corporate social investment by the Corporation. She also went further to shed light on the Corporation’s core mandate of providing reinsurance services and invited all to participate in the Corporation’s activities such as purchase of shares through the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and taking up of occupancy in the Corporation’s commercial properties in Nairobi and Kisumu.
Manager, Marketing, Business Development & Kenya Re Training Academy Coordinator– Ms. Lucy Kagwiria, attended the event and presented a prize to one of the golf winners. Staff from the Reinsurance Operations Division were also in attendance.
