The Corporation is sponsoring the 8th edition of the Kaplagat Forest Annual Tree Planting event, taking place from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th July, 2024. The 1st two days, sponsors and partners will commence the planting activities at Kaptagat Forest and on the last day - Saturday, the exercise will be lead by H.E President William Ruto at Kaptagat Girls High School. The event, organized by the State Department of Forestry, aims to cover the budgetary costs for the rehabilitation of 480 hectares and the fencing of 273 kilometers of the forest ecosystem. Additionally, it seeks to implement the Kaplagat Restoration and Livelihoods Program.
The Corporation has sponsored this initiative by donating Ksh. 1,000,000 to support the rehabilitation and fencing efforts, as well as the distribution of 300,000 assorted fruit seedlings.
The Corporation is represented by Group Managing Director Dr. Hillary Wachinga, Manager - Corporate Affairs Ms. Gladys Some - HSC as well as Senior Communications Officer – Andrew Ongicha.
