On 7th February 2024, the Manager, Marketing & Business Development & Kenya Re Training Academy Coordinator, Ms. Lucy Kagwiria as well as the Shariah Coordinator, Mr. Mohamed Omar, hosted the President of the East African Insurance Brokers Association and President of Burundi Insurance Brokers Association (EAIBA), Mr. Abdul Salum Rucekeri at the Corporation’s Head Office in Reinsurance Plaza, Nairobi.
The Kenya Re duo met the EAIBA President who had paid a courtesy visit to the Corporation aimed at achieving the following objectives:
1. To seek Kenya Re support on training and capacity building for the direct insurance business in Burundi;
2. To invite and interest Kenya Re support for an EAIBA upcoming conference to be held in the month of March 2024 in Burundi;
3. To benchmark on Kenya Re Retakaful window and gain insights useful in enabling them set up a Takaful Company in Burundi.
The meeting resolved to sustain engagements between the two entities through close collaboration for the above objectives to come to fruition.
