Kenya Re recently sponsored the 5th Annual Association of the Kenya Professional Insurance Agents (AKPIA) 2024 conference, held in Mombasa from 25th to 29th November 2024.
The conference, themed "INNOVATE, INTEGRATE, AND INSPIRE," brought together numerous insurance agents, brokers, reinsurers, and representatives from the Insurance Regulatory Authority, KRA and other stakeholders.
Our Group Managing Director, in a speech delivered by the Ag. General Manager Reinsurance Operations - Alice Mbutu, emphasized the importance of collaboration in today's evolving insurance landscape; further highlighting the need for industry-wide efforts to enhance consumer education and expand insurance penetration. The remarks also highlighted Kenya Re's recent achievements, including:
• Capacity Building: Through the Kenya Re Academy, offering free training to enhance industry knowledge and skills.
• CEO Summit: Hosting the first-ever Kenya Re CEO Summit to discuss industry challenges and opportunities.
• Hackathon: Collaborating with the University of Nairobi to foster innovation and solve insurance problems through AI and technology.
During the event, the Kenya Re team met with AKPIA leadership to explore potential collaborations to benefit both organizations.
Kenya Re was represented by Ag. General Manager, Reinsurance Operations – Alice Mbutu, Manager Marketing, Business Development & Kenya Re Academy Coordinator – Lucy Kagwiria as well as Manager, Customer Relationships – Linus K’owiti.
