Kenya Re Zambia held a market cocktail event on the evening of Friday, 4th August 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia.
The event was held with the aim of introducing the new Group Managing Director (MD), Dr. Hillary Maina Wachinga, to the Zambia market and was also targeted at forging valuable connections and exploring mutual business connections with the valued Zambia stakeholders.
The event was attended by clients drawn from over fifty insurance companies, reinsurance brokerage firms and business partners: with a significant number being Managing Director’s and CEOs. The event was also attended by Kenya Re Zambia Board Chairman – Mr. Patrick Wanjelani, Kenya Re Zambia & Kenya Re Group Board members, Trade attaché at the Kenya High Commission in Zambia, Mr. Roy Otieno, General Manager - Reinsurance Operations, Mrs. Beth Nyaga, Regional Manager, Mr. Seleman Tembo, Corporation Secretary – Mr. Charles Kariuki, Manager, Corporate Affairs, Ms. Gladys Some, Manager, HR – Ms. Sally Waigumo, Corporate Affairs staff & Zambia subsidiary staff. Acting CEO Pensions & Insurance Authority of Zambia- Mrs. Namakau Mundia Ntini, graced the event as the Chief Guest and appreciated the multi-stakeholder collaboration efforts of Kenya Re Zambia in growing the insurance sector in the Country.
In his remarks, the Group MD – Dr. Wachinga, noted that Kenya Re Zambia has the largest reinsurance market share in the Country which is a remarkable achievement that testifies of Kenya Re’s commitment to the customer and the faithfulness to keep growing. “It speaks of resilience provided by years of operational experience.” He added.
