The Corporation sponsored the International Women’s Day golf event and gala dinner that was held at Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club on Friday, 8th March 2024 in partnership with Nation Media Group. The chief guest at the event was Her Excellency Mrs. Rachel Ruto, EGH - the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya. H.E the First Lady delivered a virtual speech at the event. In her speech, she rallied for concerted efforts to uplift women and enactment of policies aimed at fostering gender equality. She also emphasized the importance of providing space for women and closing the gender parity gap. The keynote speeches at the event were delivered by H.E Anne Waiguru, EGH – Governor, Kirinyaga County & Chairperson – Council of Governors, Annastacia Kimtai - Managing Director KCB Bank Kenya and Nation Media Group CEO – Stephen Gitagama.
The Corporation’s sponsorship of the event reaffirmed its position on the importance of ensuring every vision, every voice and every mind has a seat at the table to secure a better future. It further echoed our commitment on achieving the wholesome reality of a 50:50 gender ratio at Kenya Re, thereby fostering an inclusive world that inspires progress. The golf event was well-played by GM – Property & Investments – Lilian Mbaabu and Client Relationship Manager – Linus Kówiti. The gala dinner was well-attended by the General Manager – Finance & Credit Control – Ruth Ngugi, General Manager – Property & Investments – Lilian Mbaabu, Manager, Marketing, Business Development & Kenya Re Training Academy Coordinator – Lucy Kagwiria, Manager – Local Business – Elizabeth Omondi, Manager – International Treaty Business – Alice Mbutu and Manager – Records & Archives– Judy Njuguna. Senior Lady executives and professionals in Kenya also attended the event.
