The Corporation sponsored the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) Annual Golf tournament at Royal Nairobi Golf Club on Friday, 21st June 2024. The sponsorship was a significant show of the long-standing partnership between Kenya Re and IIK. IIK is a key stakeholder for the Corporation as it is the umbrella body for insurance professionals in Kenya.
Kenya Re was represented at the tournament by golfers –Sally Waigumo – Manager, Human Resources, Samuel Ruugia – Manager, ICT and Linus K’owiti – Manager, Customer Relationship. Mr. Bonface Makacha of Kenya Re Sacco also played in the tournament.
The Group Managing Director (GMD), Dr. Hillary Maina Wachinga, graced the golf the tournament and networked with the golfers who are largely key insurance leaders. The General Manager, Reinsurance Operations – Beth Nyaga, made remarks on behalf of Kenya Re GMD at the prize giving ceremony and affirmed the Corporation’s support for the (re)insurance industry’s growth and development through sporting events such as golf.
Manager, Marketing, Business Development & Kenya Re Training Academy Coordinator– Ms. Lucy Kagwiria, also attended the event and was part of the Management team in attendance. Staff from the Reinsurance Operations Division also attended the event.
